The AWOLs raced in The Transcontinental Race were stock frames built up to the specific needs and preferences of The AWOL Team riders. And the specifications were very different.

R rides a small AWOL frame named The Transcontinental Disgrace, raw steel without paint and coating. The frame will mature during the race and get a beautiful east European patina, R calls it beausage, others just rust. Frame is set up with SRAM XXO derailleurs and SRAM hydraulic road brakes. Dynamo hub, front and rear lights and The Plug from Supernova. Handlebar, seat post, stem and tires from Specalized. Front and rear Tubus racks and Specialized panniers. Total weight including racks is 14.2 kilos / 31.3 lb. Including gear - fully loaded with 3 26oz water bottles, approx 23.3 kilos / 51.5 lb

E rides a large AWOL frame named The Transcontinental Grace coated with the craziest PVD coating yet seen by man. Set up with Shimano Alfine Di2 and Gates Carbon Drive. Dynamo hub, front and rear lights and The Plug from Supernova. Handlebar, seat post, stem and tires from Specalized. Front and rear Tubus racks and Specialized panniers. Total weight including racks is 14.6kilos / 32 lb. Including gear - fully loaded with 3 26oz water bottles, approx 24 kilos / 53 lb
